"This artwork pays tribute to the 25th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide that happened in the Bosnian war, on July 11, 1995. The flowers symbolise the loss of 8,000 and more men who were systematically targeted because of their faith. This artwork represents the hope Bosnian Muslims have for the future - the hope for justice, equality and respect for their identity.
This artwork will not only lift a room based on its deep meaning, but also by its bright colours and mixed media features. The flowers are sowed on using white yarn, the red lines are drawn was oil crayon, and the soft watercolour provides a beautiful contrast to these mixed media features."
